[SOLVED] Annoying Windows 10 Bug: Folders in Downloads-Folder open in new window

Why does that happen?

The Adobe Photoshop CC Quick Export function generates a registry entry that causes this annoying behaviour.

Solution

  1. Enter registry editor:
    1. Click on Windows Start Menu
    2. Enter "regedit"
    3. Execute (with Administrator privilegues)
  2. Navigate to this key: 
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\‌Explorer\Modules\
  3. Delete the key called: NavPane
  4. Restart computer or restart explorer.exe via Task Manager
