If a website looks strange, loads outdated data, or behaves incorrectly, your browser cache might be the problem. The cache stores temporary files to speed up loading – but can cause issues. Here's how to clear the cache in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
Open Chrome.
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) → More Tools → Clear browsing data.
Check “Cached images and files”.
Select Time range: All time.
Click “Clear data”.
Open Firefox.
Click the menu (≡) → Settings → Privacy & Security.
Scroll to Cookies and Site Data → Click “Clear Data…”.
Select Cached Web Content → Click “Clear”.
Open Edge.
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) → Settings.
Go to Privacy, search, and services.
Under Clear browsing data, click “Choose what to clear”.
Select Cached images and files → Click “Clear now”.
Clearing your browser cache often fixes display or loading issues instantly. Doing this regularly is a good habit – especially after updates or when using web-based apps.
